A defensive-offensive operation is ongoing in Donetsk region. The defense forces have success not only on the flanks around Bakhmut but also on other areas of the front.
Ukrinform has repeatedly covered the difficult situation at the Kakhovka HPP that came about due to the Russian occupation of the region. The HPP was mined as early as April 2022.
More than two thousand groups, including rescuers and police officers, are currently working to inspect shelters across Ukraine.
Due to the Kakhovka HPP dam blast, the plant’s engine room, which contained 450 tonnes of fuel oil, was also destroyed, and 150 tonnes of technical fuel oil spilled into the Dnipro River.
The explosion of Kakhovka HPP does not directly affect the operation of Zaporizhzhia NPP. An algorithm of measures for the operation of the plant and personnel has been developed in case the water of the Kakhovka reservoir is not enough to recharge the cooling pond.
Four evacuation points have already been deployed in Kherson.
Enemy losses in killed and wounded in Tavria direction amount to more than three companies; 55 units of enemy weapons and military equipment were destroyed and damaged.
About 16,000 people are currently in the disaster area on the right-bank Kherson region as the Russians blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam.

Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 107 occupiers, destroyed three ammunition depots and several enemy vehicles in Bakhmut direction. The total number of losses that Russia has suffered during attempts to capture Bakhmut exceeds 20,000.
In the Kupiansk-Lyman sector, the Defense Forces of Ukraine eliminated 58 invaders and injured 98 more, as well as destroyed a number of enemy vehicles.

On 1 June, 15 people were injured in Kherson and the region as a result of hostile shelling - a pre-trial investigation has been launched.
In the south, the Russian-occupation forces returned to the tactics of using guided aerial bombs. In particular, in Kherson region, Beryslav and Kherson districts suffer the most from shelling.
Over the past 24 hours, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 13 times in Tavria direction, and four engagements took place near Maryinka which is assaulted by Kadyrov’s units “Akhmat”.
Today, on June 1, the enemy used superfast Iskander missiles to strike unexpectedly.
The Russian forces fired 78 times at populated areas across Zaporizhzhia region on Wednesday, May 31.
