Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 107 occupiers, destroyed three ammunition depots and several enemy vehicles in Bakhmut direction. The total number of losses that Russia has suffered during attempts to capture Bakhmut exceeds 20,000.

"We launch powerful strikes. 107 occupiers were eliminated, 126 were wounded. An enemy IFV, seven guns, Pion self-propelled cannon, three field ammunition depots, and four military vehicles were destroyed," Serhiy Cherevaty, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.

He added that the enemy tries to cover its rotational measures with powerful artillery fire. Thus, according to Cherevaty, the enemy shelled the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine 452 times with various calibers of tube artillery and MLRS, carried out six air raids in Bakhmut direction over the past day.

Cherevaty noted that Bakhmut currently has no strategic value and what Russian propaganda tries to present as a success is negated by the losses that Russia suffered when trying to capture Bakhmut.

"Some say there are 60,000, 70,000, 100,000 depending on the number of killed and wounded.

There is a debate, but everyone agrees that more than 20,000 [Russian soldiers] have been killed. These are incredible losses for the district center [Bakhmut]... We achieved the main thing: we exhausted them, knocked them out, we forced the Wagner mercenaries to flee. And we continue to deliver powerful blows to their grouping. Those troops who enter instead of Wagner are not very eager to enter there because they know what happened to their predecessors," Cherevaty said.
