Four evacuation points have already been deployed in Kherson.

The acting head of the National Police of Ukraine Ivan Vyhivskyi wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"As of 12:30 a.m., 885 people have been evacuated from the flooded areas in Kherson region, police officers together with rescuers are patrolling and helping citizens evacuate to safe places. Four evacuation points have been set up in Kherson," he said.

According to him, criminal proceedings on the facts of ecocide and violation of the laws and customs of war are being investigated by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

About 800 people have already been evacuated in Kherson region, six shelter centers are operating, and communication is taking place through community leaders.

A spokesman for the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Tolokonnikov said this on the air of the United News telethon.

"We were ready for any development that could happen here. A month ago, the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, proposed to work out emergency evacuation routes that could occur due to large-scale shelling in Kherson region. And now this system has just started working because it was needed. Already 800 people have been evacuated from Ostrov and other settlements. There are six temporary shelters in Kherson region, where people are brought to wait it out," said the spokesman.

As reported, Daria Zarivna, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that the Russians had been planning to blow up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant for a long time, and the water level was raised as much as possible to create a large wave and flood a large area.
