Oil depot explodes, catches on fire in Russia’s Belgorod

A large fire broke out at an oil depot in the Russian town of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine.

"There was a fire at the oil depot in the town of Belgorod. All emergency services went to the scene. Measures are being taken to eliminate it," Vyacheslav Gladkov, head of the Belgorod region, said on the morning of Friday, April 1, Ukrinform reports.

Gladkov later clarified that two depot employees had been injured. Residents of three streets are being relocated.

The causes of the fire have not been reported yet.

In the evening on March 29, an ammunition depot in the suburbs of Belgorod caught on fire. As a result, four Russian servicemen were injured.
