Zelensky says Trump administration is not pressuring Ukraine
The head of state said this at a press conference following the Ukraine-Nordic-Baltic Summit in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We have not received such information from U.S. President Trump's administration or from his team that we will not receive weapons. I think that today's war already puts significant pressure on Europeans, because they are the ones paying for American weapons. That is why I am grateful to them. I am grateful that we can purchase weapons from them and that they have not blocked this opportunity. During the negotiations, as you know, difficult issues are being discussed, and they mostly concern territories. Almost everything revolves around this. Even the [Zaporizhzhia] nuclear power plant also concerns territory," Zelensky said.
He noted that the disputed issues currently being discussed in the trilateral talks mainly concern principles rather than financial matters.
"For us, it is not only about money, let's be honest. The nuclear power plant is about principles and also about our land. It is our station. We know that it will operate in a few years, and we will need to invest a lot in it because it has been damaged. So the issue here is not about money but about principles," Zelensky said.
Earlier, Zelensky said in an interview with ARD that Russia's war against Ukraine can end only if the United States and Europe maintain a consolidated position in putting pressure on Putin, along with additional influence on Russia from China.
