General Staff: 232 clashes on front lines, heaviest fighting near Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, Huliaipole
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of said this in a war update as of 22:00 on May 26, 2026, published on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"The enemy carried out one missile strike using one missile, 53 airstrikes, and dropped 186 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it used 4,583 kamikaze drones and conducted 1,864 strikes on settlements and the positions of our forces," the report said.
According to the General Staff, seven clashes were recorded in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. The enemy carried out one airstrike, dropped four guided bombs, and conducted 71 strikes on settlements and Ukrainian positions, two of them using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched nine assaults near the settlements of Starytsia, Vilcha, Hraniv, Ternova, Lyman, and Kolodiazne. Two clashes are still ongoing.
On the Kupiansk axis, Russian troops carried out three attacks toward Kurylivka, Borova, and Novoplatonivka, with two engagements still ongoing.
On the Lyman axis, Ukrainian forces repelled ten Russian attempts to advance toward Lyman, Drobysheve, Dibrova, and near Yampil.
No offensive actions were reported on the Siversk axis.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Ukrainian defenders stopped one attack near Tykhonivka.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 20 Russian assaults near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Mykolaipillia, Vilne, and Kucheriv Yar.
On the Pokrovsk axis, Russian forces carried out 34 attacks, attempting to advance near Nykanorivka, Kotlyne, Horikhove, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, and Udachne, as well as toward Shevchenko, Bilytske, Serhiivka, and Novopavlivka. Four clashes are still ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, Ukrainian forces eliminated 25 Russian troops and wounded eight more in this sector. They also destroyed three vehicles and two pieces of special equipment, one electronic warfare system, damaged 12 vehicles, one piece of special equipment, three artillery systems, and six enemy shelters. A total of 162 drones of various types were destroyed or jammed.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, Ukrainian defenders stopped one Russian attack near Novokhatske.
On the Huliaipole axis, 27 Russian assaults were recorded near Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Huliaipole, Solodke, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, and toward Nove Zaporizhzhia, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. One battle is still ongoing.
On the Orikhiv axis, Russian forces attempted to advance twice toward Shcherbaky and Bilohiria.
On the Dnipro River axis, Ukrainian forces successfully stopped two attacks toward Bilohrudyi Island.
No significant changes in the situation were reported on other fronts.
