SOF refutes Russia’s fake news on losses during operation off Crimea coast

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces have denounced a false report by Russia’s Defense Ministry claiming Ukrainian navy boats were destroyed and a group of soldiers were killed off the coast of Crimea.

The SOF press service reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.

Recently, Russia’s Defense Ministry posted a following report: "On August 30, around 00:00 Moscow time, a naval aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet destroyed four high-speed gunboats carrying landing groups of Ukrainian special operations forces of up to 50 servicemen in the Black Sea waters."

The SOF mocked the fake news report circulated by the Russians.

"Last night, about 12,000 operators with the SOF 73rd Center, armed with combat dolphins, moles, and chinchillas, made an attempt to land on the Crimea coast. The enemy launched a counterattack employing combat boomerangs. Due to this, our soldiers were forced to request support of the Death Star and the Galactic Empire Fleet. The SOF report would have been somewhere like this if we were to write in the style of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Russia’s statements on their planes killing our soldiers in the sea, and many other such reports, are just like this," the SOF said.

The press service recalled that citizens should only trust verified sources, adding that “believing the Russians is disrespecting yourself (to put it mildly).”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Special Operations Forces showed the drone that was used in Operation Top Gun on August 25, when Russia’s 126th Separate Guards Coastal Defense Brigade base was attacked in occupied Crimea.
