Ukrinform
Cyprus will propose Ukraine assistance in technical training on demining territories as part of its humanitarian aid.

This was stated by Minister of Defense Michalis Georgallas of Cyprus, Ukrinform reports with reference to Reuters.

As noted, his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov, who is visiting Cyprus on Friday, plans to inspect the areas where the training is expected to take place.

"We will host personnel which will handle de-mining and detection of mines," Cypriot defense minister said.

A group of about 18 Ukrainian officers will be in Cyprus for training in the last week of April, the Politis newspaper reports.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Reznikov visited Athens on June 6 as part of meetings with officials from NATO allies.

The Greek side declared it was ready to transfer to Ukraine another batch of BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, artillery rounds, and ammunition for small arms.
