In Ukraine, on Sunday, February 8, hourly power outage schedules will be in effect for household consumers throughout the entire day, while industrial consumers will face capacity restrictions. In some regions, emergency power outages will continue to be applied.
The energy situation in Ukraine remains extremely difficult, with the loss of power due to Russian attacks overnight and in the morning of February 7 creating a significant additional electricity deficit.
Over several hours, Russian forces attacked the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant (TPP) with missiles and drones, causing a temporary shutdown of heat and water supply in the town. The plant itself also temporarily ceased operations.
