New power outages reported in five regions following Russian attacks – Ukrenergo
Ukraine's power grid operator Ukrenergo announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"The enemy continues to attack Ukraine's civilian energy infrastructure. As a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery strikes, there are new power outages in the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv regions as of this morning. Emergency repair work has already begun wherever security conditions allow," the statement said.
Due to rain and strong winds, six settlements in the Zakarpattia region were partially left without power in the morning. Repair crews from the regional energy company are already working to restore the damaged lines.
As of 09:30 on Tuesday, electricity consumption was 3.5% higher than the previous day. This increase is attributed to cloudy weather in western and parts of central Ukraine, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power plants.
Ukrenergo emphasized the continued need for a rational approach to electricity consumption. In particular, the system operator recommends shifting high electricity usage to the period from 11:00 to 15:00, and limiting the use of high-power electrical appliances from 18:00 to 22:00.
