Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet decided on a possible Easter truce.

According to Ukrinform, he told reporters this on Thursday, April 9, the BBC Russian Service reports.

“Putin has not made any decisions regarding an Easter truce as of today,” Peskov said briefly.

As reported by Ukrinform, on March 30, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire in any format—whether comprehensive or limited—including an Easter ceasefire—without compromising its dignity and sovereignty.

The Kremlin reacted skeptically to this proposal, stating that they allegedly had not seen any detailed proposals on the matter.

Zelensky later stated that the Ukrainian party had forwarded a request to the U.S. regarding a proposal to the Russians for an Easter ceasefire. The President of Ukraine also emphasized that the Ukrainian side is ready to respond in kind if the Russians stop attacking.
