Zelensky: Ukraine ready for Easter ceasefire, but with condition
The head of state made this statement during a conversation with journalists, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
"We have supported any format for ending the war, provided that we do not lose the dignity and independence of our state. And a ceasefire in any format—whether complete or limited to energy infrastructure. And we are ready for a ceasefire during the Easter holidays. In my view, normal people who respect life talk about a ceasefire and an end to the war for good, not just for a few days. But, of course, we are ready for any compromises, except for compromises regarding dignity and sovereignty," Zelensky said.
The president noted that Russia will not be able to strengthen its positions in these two or three days
“We remember what they promised in three days and failed to do,” Zelensky said.
As reported by Ukrinform, amid reports of U.S. pressure on Ukraine to withdraw from the Donbas region in exchange for full involvement in ensuring security guarantees for the post-war period, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reiterated that Ukraine alone will make decisions regarding its own territory.
