Russian forces destroy historic wooden school in occupied Mariupol – city council
The Mariupol City Council reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Russian occupation troops have destroyed in Mariupol a unique historical monument – the Gogol primary school, constructed back in 1911," the statement said.

City officials noted that the building was a rare example of early 20th-century wooden architecture. Before the full-scale invasion, it had preserved its authenticity and held significant cultural value for the city.
The destruction of the school was also reported by historian and researcher at Mariupol State University, Vadym Korobka, co-founder of the Mariupol local history society "Kalmius."
According to the city council, occupying forces continue to destroy historical and cultural sites in the city.
Earlier, the local occupation administration had announced plans to demolish a large area of the Central Historic District to build cottages intended for buyers from Russia.
In addition, Russian forces have removed hundreds of artifacts from local museums.
