Ukraine and Germany to establish coordination committee on mineral resources
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture reported the signing, according to Ukrinform.
The Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between Ukraine’s State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources and Germany’s Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR).
Under the initiative, the parties will establish a Ukrainian-German coordination committee composed of representatives from both institutions. The committee will define the list of joint projects and oversee their implementation.
“The signing of this memorandum marks a new stage in Ukrainian-German cooperation in mineral resource management. For Ukraine, this is an important step toward greater transparency of geological data, development of the mineral resource base, and creating conditions for attracting investment into the sector,” said Oleksii Soboliev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.
Key areas of cooperation include joint geological research, data analytics for exploration and development of deposits, attracting strategic investors by promoting Ukraine’s mineral potential, and modernizing geological information through digitization, systematization, and translation into English.
As reported earlier, Ukraine and Germany also agreed to deepen cooperation in forestry, food, and agriculture.
