War update: Ukraine’s Air Force launches four strikes on enemy positions

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Air Force has launched four strikes on enemy personnel and military equipment clusters. Russian troops attempted to conduct offensive actions in five directions but failed.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Over the past day, Russian invaders have launched 11 air strikes and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) 17 times, namely on civil infrastructure in the city of Kherson and all over the front line in the Donetsk region. Enemy projectiles caused damage to detached houses and apartment blocks. Casualties among civilians were reported.

The threat of Russian missile attacks is persisting all over Ukraine.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the situation remained rather unchanged.

Russian troops launched mortar and artillery strikes near the Chernihiv region’s Katerynivka, the Sumy region’s Stukalivka, Hyrine and Pavlivka, and the Kharkiv region’s Starytsia, Veterynarne, Strilecha, Vovchanski Khutory, Cherniaky, Loshakove, Krasne Pershe, Stroivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne and Kupiansk.

Near the Sumy region’s Popivka, the enemy used an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) loaded with ammunition.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, Russian occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Masiutivka, Nevske, Serebrianske forestry, Bilohorivka, Torske, Rozdolivka and Fedorivka.

Over 18 settlements were struck with Russian artillery, namely the Kharkiv region’s Hrianykivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka and Berestove, and the Luhansk region’s Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Kreminna, Dibrova and Bilohorivka. Russians launched air strikes near Zhytlivka, Bilohorivka, Vesele and Rozdolivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops continue attacking the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The enemy launched several unsuccessful attacks near the Donetsk region’s Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske and Stupochky.

Over 15 settlements came under enemy fire, including the Donetsk region’s Vasiukivka, Zaliznianske, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Bila Hora, Oleksandro-Shultyne and New York. Russian invaders launched an air strike near Bakhmut.

In the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, Russian occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Kamianka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Vuhledar. The enemy launched artillery strikes near the Donetsk region’s Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Netailove, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Bohoiavlenka, Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka.

Russians actively used operational-tactical and combat aircraft near Kamianka, Marinka and Avdiivka.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, over 20 settlements came under enemy fire, namely the Donetsk region’s Vremivka, Neskuchne, Zelene Pole and Novopil, and the Zaporizhzhia region’s Chervone, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka and Kamianske. The enemy launched an air strike near Novopil and Chervone.

In the Kherson direction, Russian invaders struck 19 settlements with artillery, including the Kherson region’s Mykhailivka, Havrylivka, Vesele, Matrosivka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Molodizhne, Inzhenerne, Antonivka, Kherson and Dniprovske.

Russian troops continue suffering significant losses. According to the available data, on February 23, 2023, near the Donetsk region’s Horlivka, without making official records, the occupiers carried out an offsite examination of about 200 bodies of the Wagner Group’s mercenaries, eliminated in the Bakhmut direction on February 20-22, 2023. Upon the examination, the corpses of Russian invaders were carried by trucks towards Russia’s Novoshakhtinsk.

On February 22-24, 2023, the morgue of Horlivka City Hospital No. 2 received about 30 bodies of Russian soldiers, who had been drafted in as part of mobilization efforts within the Donetsk region’s temporarily occupied areas and Russia.
