General Onno Eichelsheim, Chief of Defence of the Netherlands Armed Forces, stated that Ukraine is gradually gaining an advantage over Russia thanks to the development and effective use of unmanned technologies.

He said this in a comment to Ukrinform's correspondent.

Eichelsheim said that, first of all, he believed Ukraine was currently performing very well because it was gradually gaining an advantage over the Russian Federation, primarily thanks to the use of drones. He added that this was why it was so important for the Netherlands to support Ukraine in this area.

He also stressed that Ukraine had to understand that it was not alone. He said he was convinced that other countries would continue to support Ukraine and that Russia also needed to realize this. According to Eichelsheim, Ukraine would not be left on its own after the war ended, as support from partners in Europe and beyond would continue. He added that this ongoing support should also become an important element in deterring Russia.

According to Eichelsheim, Ukraine was an integral part of Europe's security, which meant that after the war ended, cooperation with Ukraine in the field of European air defense would continue, especially since Ukraine was already playing an important role in this area. He added that he believed mutual interdependence would only grow, along with the ability to support Ukraine in the future.

As Ukrinform reported, the Netherlands transferred more than 60 pickup trucks and modern unmanned systems to Ukraine.
