Ukraine Navy chief at int’l symposium talks of common maritime challenges

During the 24th International Seapower Symposium, the Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Rear Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, discussed with other naval leaders common challenges to maritime security.

That’s according to a tweet by the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"Chief of Ukraine Navy Rear Adm Oleksii Neizhpapa discussed common maritime challenges and opportunities to enhance maritime security cooperation with senior international naval leaders at Naval War College's ISS-24," the statement said.

The embassy stressed that "working together w its partners and allies can help Ukraine deter aggression and preserve peace."

The 24th International Seapower Symposium was held on September 14-17 in Newport, Rhode Island, USA.

The event aims to create a platform for senior naval leaders to discuss common maritime challenges and opportunities for expanding international cooperation in the field of maritime security.
