The situation in the south remains difficult due to active assault operations by Russian troops, which are attempting to take control of Huliaipole and Stepnohirsk.

This was stated by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, in a comment to Ukrinform.

According to him, fighting is ongoing within Huliaipole itself, particularly on the eastern and northeastern outskirts of the city, where the enemy is attempting to infiltrate using assault groups.

“The enemy is attempting to enter the city, but the Defense Forces of Ukraine are eliminating them, blocking them, and halting their advance. The number of combat engagements indicates that the adversary is assaulting our positions despite sustaining losses,” Voloshyn said.

He added that Russian forces are actively employing infiltration tactics, seeking to penetrate deeper into populated areas and entrench themselves within urban development.

“Currently, there are small pockets where the enemy is attempting to gain a foothold in individual buildings, but our units are conducting reconnaissance, search, and assault operations, destroying the adversary and driving them out of their positions. At this time, they are unable to establish themselves in the built-up areas,” the spokesperson emphasized.

He also reported that a similar situation persists near Stepnohirsk.

“Near Stepnohirsk, the enemy is likewise trying to enter the settlement, but the Defense Forces of Ukraine are blocking them on the approaches,” he explained.

As reported by Ukrinform, the situation in the south remains difficult, with 56 combat engagements recorded over the past day. At the same time, Huliaipole remains under the control of the Defense Forces, with the enemy being eliminated on the city’s outskirts.
