Ukraine's winter preparations: Shmyhal outlines six key energy priorities

According to Ukrinform, the minister shared the details on Telegram.

"We identified the following six key areas: the repair campaign and restoration of power plant operations; construction of protective structures at energy facilities; restoration of generation assets and grid equipment in the Kyiv energy hub; attracting humanitarian aid from partners to develop energy hubs; development of cogeneration; and monitoring the implementation of the headquarters' decisions," Shmyhal said.

During the meeting, participants also conducted a detailed review of repair schedules and assessed the current condition of infrastructure at generation facilities.

"The task for all relevant services and agencies is clear: to do everything necessary to restore equipment and capacity as quickly as technically possible. It is important to ensure maximum resilience, including through decentralization tools and the installation of additional capacity, particularly cogeneration," the minister added.

As reported, the minimum critical level of gas reserves in Ukraine's underground storage facilities ahead of the heating season is set at 13.2 billion cubic meters.
