Children may be mandatory evacuated from five border villages of Kharkiv region - Syniehubov
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said this during the nationwide United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The Vovchansk direction is under attacks every day. We already have a request from the city military administration regarding the mandatory evacuation of children from five settlements that are part of Vovchansk territorial community. This request is being considered and, most likely, will be approved," Syniehubov said.
He noted that there are places for families with children to stay in Kharkiv and other districts of the region, which are safer compared to the border area.
"In Kharkiv, 3,500 places have been reserved in the dormitories of higher educational institutions. People can live there as long as they need," Syniehubov said.
As reported, in Kharkiv region, hostilities continue in Kupiansk district, from some settlements of which all children have already been evacuated. Izium, Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, and Chuhuiv districts are also under shelling, in particular, the city of Vovchansk, where about 3,000 residents remain (there were almost 17,000 residents before the invasion).
