Important not to lose sense of path we have to walk - President Zelensky

Ukrinform
We are now at such a stage of the war where it is important for our society and partners not to lose a sense of the path we have to walk.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said this in his address to the nation on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports.

I salute you, my dear Ukrainians,

I held another meeting of the Supreme CinC Staff today. First of all, the combat situation was discussed. The issues that we’re successful on in the main directions, in difficult directions, such as Bakhmut and Avdiivka, and Donetsk region in general, such as Kreminna, as well as Luhansk region in general.

At the Supreme CinC Staff meeting, we looked into what’s yet to be achieved, what we’re still working on.

There came reports by General Syrskyi, General Tarnavskyi, the CinC, and GUR military intelligence.

The General Staff and Minister of Internal Affairs reported on the staffing of new units of our defense forces – new brigades.

The head of the SBU, General Maliuk, delivered a report on his part – on what concerns our internal stability, protection from the internal enemy and efforts to counter enemy collaborators.

We are now at such a stage of the war, where it is important for our society and partners not to lose a sense of the path we have to walk. It’s precisely about the path. The path that lies ahead of us.

Against last year, many locations are quieter now. But this doesn’t mean that one can ignore the war somewhere or be less focused on helping the country.

We managed to do a lot together with our partners to protect people, Ukraine, and the whole of Europe. But that doesn't mean it's time to rest on our laurels. We have a long way to go. The movement is forward. It’s something for which we need unity no less than before. We must be no less focused than before.

Just as before, our positions at the front, all our soldiers at their positions must be supported by Ukrainian positions politically and in terms of information, by the power of weapons and the power of our social unity, our internal stability and the strength of Ukraine's ties with the rest of the world. And this is the task for both the state and everyone in the country, both for Ukraine and everyone in the world who values a free life and an international rules-based order.

It is foolish to just passively hope that someone else will bring victory, the one who is now in the trenches, the one who is now performing assaults. This is a joint task. Everyone wins. Those who fight for it, and those who provide weapons. Those who reduce the capabilities of the terrorist state, and those who increase those of Ukraine.

Just as everyone in the Staff is responsible for their part in defending our state, on the way to victory everyone should understand: what are your steps to victory? Are these steps enough to go all the way?

Today I had a very interesting, meaningful meeting with the American businessman and philanthropist Howard Buffett. He has long been generously helping Ukraine and our people. Many projects are being implemented with his support. For example, construction of a kitchen factory has begun in Bucha, which will become part of the reform of school meals in Ukraine and will provide for children in three communities in Kyiv region. The project will also be scaled to other regions, in particular to Kharkiv region.

And when someone helps us in this way, when he personally cares about support - and these are generally projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars – then they see very well how important it is for everyone to be on the path to victory, how important it is for everyone to be active, how important it is for everyone to become at least in some way a hero, to make sure that we all win.

I thank Mr. Buffett for his support. I thank all our partners around the world who do not stop being active in helping us.

I thank all Ukrainian men and women who understand that we have to walk this path together – toward victory, and in true unity, supporting each other and the state.

Glory to all our soldiers!

Glory to our strong people!

Glory to Ukraine!
