Ukraine receives six requests from Middle Eastern countries for assistance – Zelensky
Zelensky stated this during a joint media briefing with the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, Ukrinform reports.
"By the end of the week, the military and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will return [from the Gulf region]. There will be a full report. As of today, we have requests from six countries for assistance. We have sent expertise to three countries. There is also a separate request from the United States regarding Jordan. When they return, we will understand the scale of the assistance our partners expect from us," Zelensky said.
He noted that in countries of the Middle East, as well as in the United States and the European Union, there are certain numbers of interceptor drones. However, according to Zelensky, without Ukrainian pilots, military personnel, and special software, these systems do not work.
"This system exists only with us; it is officially used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Therefore, everyone understands that even having dozens or hundreds of interceptors will not stabilize the situation. This is a systemic defense. The experts in systemic protection – professionals in air defense and the use of short-range air defense – are exactly the ones who flew to these Middle Eastern countries," he said.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, a Ukrainian delegation that includes military personnel and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, departed for the Gulf region on March 10 to help protect lives and stabilize the situation amid escalating tensions caused by Iranian strikes.
