Zelensky awards 890 service members, 442 posthumously

President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded state honors to 890 defenders of Ukraine, 442 of them posthumously.

According to Ukrinform, the relevant decrees No. 345/2026 and No. 346/2026, dated April 27, have been published on the President’s website.

The documents state that the awards were granted for personal bravery demonstrated in the defense of Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the selfless fulfillment of military duty.

The defenders received the Presidential “Cross of Military Merit,” the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and Princess Olha, the “For Courage” Order, and the medals “For Military Service to Ukraine,” “Defender of the Fatherland,” and “For Saving Lives.”

As reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky signed a decree awarding state honors to 92 individuals on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster.
