Russians may ramp up artillery shelling on southern front in coming days – Voloshyn
This was stated in a comment to Ukrinform by spokesperson for the Defense Forces of the South Vladyslav Voloshyn.
“According to our intelligence, some enemy artillery units have received additional ammunition, and it is possible that in the coming days the enemy will somewhat increase the use of artillery in our sectors to support their assault units,” he said.
In particular, according to the spokesperson, more than 200 shelling incidents were recorded over the past day.
“Why is the number relatively low? Because weather conditions play a role… starting from today, the enemy continues fairly active shelling, drone strikes, and assault operations,” Voloshyn added.
As reported by Ukrinform, 241 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian troops were recorded on the frontline over the past day, April 26. The enemy was most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 55 assault attempts.
