FM Sybiha informs European partners on results of Zelensky-Trump meeting

He made the remarks at a meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers’ Council in Luxembourg, Ukrinform reports, citing the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ukraine.

Sybiha informed European partners about the outcomes of the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, emphasizing the need for coordinated pressure on Russia to compel it to negotiate peace.

“It is possible to achieve an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine. But this requires pressure, pressure, and more pressure. That is the only thing Putin understands,” said the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.

He confirmed that Ukraine is ready for a bilateral meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia or a trilateral format with the U.S. President to achieve peace, and stressed that such a meeting must be productive. He reiterated that a ceasefire is a crucial element for any real peace process.

Ukrinform previously reported that Zelensky believes that following the ceasefire in the Middle East, U.S. President Donald Trump is now determined to put maximum effort into achieving peace in Ukraine.
