Norway intends to maintain a high level of support for Ukraine next year, allocating around $8.5 billion.

Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced this during a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today I have announced that Norway’s high level of support for Ukraine in 2025 will be continued into 2026. That means, translated into currency you understand, $8.5 billion in 2026, which I will propose to Parliament,” Støre said.

He added that Norway’s parliament has previously unanimously supported the Nansen program — a state initiative dedicated to supporting refugees and migrants, as well as integrating them into Norwegian society — and expressed confidence that Norway will continue to support it at a high level.

Støre also noted that Norway considers strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability a key security guarantee and acts according to Ukraine’s needs.

In this context, he reminded that Norway, together with Germany, is co-financing two Patriot systems, including their missiles, helps counter drone and missile attacks, and invests in Ukrainian industry for effective production of military equipment.

As previously reported, Norway is allocating around 7 billion Norwegian kroner (USD 696.12 million) to fund air defense systems for Ukraine.
