Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius discussed preparations for the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in the “Ramstein” format, scheduled for April 15.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

During the next meeting of the Contact Group, Ukraine will present an update on the implementation of the War Plan’s provisions aimed at compelling Russia to make peace.

Priority areas of cooperation will be presented to partners, particularly in the fields of strengthening air defense, developing unmanned systems, and exchanging data and technologies.

Ukraine is proposing a mutually beneficial model of cooperation. Under this model, allies will gain access to combat data and systems manufactured in Ukraine.

This includes, in particular, experience in creating a comprehensive system to counter Shahed-type drones.

Ukraine and Germany are preparing a series of joint projects to be implemented in the near future.

These include, in particular: a significant strengthening of air defense systems; additional funding for deep-strike and middle-strike drones; and the development of joint technological solutions.

Separately, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of innovative laser weapons.

The Ukrainian Minister of Defense thanked Pistorius for his vital assistance.

He particularly highlighted Germany’s role in protecting the lives of Ukrainians and the country’s infrastructure throughout the winter.

Germany’s contributions, notably the supply of PAC-3 missiles, were critical in repelling Russian attacks.

Fedorov also expressed gratitude for support for other projects, such as the “Czech Initiative” and the development of drone-based assault units.

Data sharing and new formats of cooperation

Special attention was paid to data sharing during the conversation.

Ukraine possesses a unique repository of combat data, and plans are in place to strengthen cooperation with Germany in this area in the near future.

Data sharing opens up new opportunities for technological development and the strengthening of both countries’ defense capabilities.
