Austria proposes hosting Ukraine Recovery Conference

Austria is ready to host a Ukraine Recovery Conference, according to Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker.

He said in a Facebook post following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Vienna on Monday, Ukrinform reports.

"As one of the largest foreign investors in Ukraine, Austria and its companies can make a significant contribution to the country's reconstruction. Therefore, we have also offered to host a future reconstruction conference," Stocker said.

He stressed that Austria has supported the Ukrainian people since the very first day of Russia's full-scale invasion and is committed to promoting a just peace.

"Since day one of the Russian attack, Austria has stood by Ukraine and its people. We all want an end to this war. The people of Ukraine want and deserve this most of all. We support all initiatives that lead to a ceasefire and a sustainable, long-term, and just peace," Stocker said.

On June 16, Zelensky paid an official visit to Austria, where he held talks with Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Christian Stocker.
