Both Ukraine, Germany need victory - Ambassador Feldhusen

The statement came in a joint video address with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, Ukrinform reports.

"Victory is currently needed by both Ukraine and Germany, which not only provides humanitarian, military and economic support to, but is always with Ukraine with its heart and soul. We thank the Ukrainian people, who every day choose their freedom and stand in defense of freedom and democracy in Europe. We believe that diplomacy is among the driving forces that will bring these hopes closer together. Together we will achieve these goals, together we will win," said the German diplomat.

For his part, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev, noted that 31 years ago, the two countries aimed to expand and deepen bilateral partnership.

"The goal of our partnership today is to restore peace in Europe. Therefore, we must win this war together," the diplomat emphasized.

He also expressed confidence that Ukraine and Germany will achieve this goal together, and thanked Germany for its support.

According to the German government, over the past year, Germany provided assistance to Ukraine totaling EUR 12 billion.
