The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, appealed to the countries of the Global South regarding Russia's false accusations of developing a "dirty bomb".

He made the relevant appeal at a briefing for foreign media, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I would also like to specifically address nations of the Global South - Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Friends, Ukraine has never had a plan to develop any ‘dirty bombs.’ This story is a pure Russian lie and no one should be fooled by it. We will not only refute it, we have invited international monitors to prove Russian allegations false because we have nothing to hide," said the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.

Kuleba also emphasized that what is even more concerning is the persistence with which Russian officials are pursuing this false narrative.

"This makes us worried that Russia itself may be preparing to commit a crime which it tries to cover in advance by spreading this disinformation. We work actively with partners not only to counter Russian lies, but also to avert any possible Russian false flag operations," the top diplomat added.

The head of the Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russia should see that the world will not allow them to continue nuclear blackmail.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu held phone calls with his French, Turkish, and British counterparts to claim that Ukraine was allegedly plotting a “dirty bomb” attack on own soil.

President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that such statements by the Russian Federation indicate that Russia had already plotted everything, therefore the world should react to this as harshly as possible.

The U.S., France, and Great Britain issued a joint statement, condemning Russia's false attempts to accuse Ukraine of preparing to use a "dirty bomb" on its own territory, and confirming steadfast support to Ukraine.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, officially proposed that the IAEA send in a mission to monitorUkraine’s nuclear facilities in order to refute the lies being spread  by Russian Federation about the "dirty bomb".
