Ukraine greenlights visa-free entry to foreigners willing to join International Legion - decree

From March 1, President Volodymyr Zelensky is introducing a temporary visa-free entry for foreign nationals who wish to join the International Defense Legion of Ukraine, except for citizens of the aggressor power, Russia.

The relevant decree, No.82/2022, was published on the President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.

"From March 1, 2022, temporarily, pending martial law, until the President of Ukraine has decided to impose visa-free travel for foreign nationals willing to join the International Legion of Defense of Ukraine, except for citizens of the aggressor power," stated in the document.

The decision was made in connection with the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of the invasion of Ukraine. Martial law was imposed in the country and general mobilization was announced.

While citing and using any materials on the Internet, links to the website ukrinform.net not lower than the first paragraph are mandatory. In addition, citing the translated materials of foreign media outlets is possible only if there is a link to the website ukrinform.net and the website of a foreign media outlet. Materials marked as "Advertisement" or with a disclaimer reading "The material has been posted in accordance with Part 3 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Advertising" No. 270/96-VR of July 3, 1996 and the Law of Ukraine "On the Media" No. 2849-Х of March 31, 2023 and on the basis of an agreement/invoice.
