Syrskyi holds meeting with commanders of unmanned systems units
As reported by Ukrinform, Syrskyi announced this on Facebook.
"I work in close contact with commanders at various levels. Effective initiative from a lieutenant, captain, major, or colonel makes it possible to significantly shorten the path from the emergence of an innovative solution within a unit to its scaling across the entire Armed Forces – from identifying a problem to resolving it. This is exactly the result I expect from the collective work of representatives of more than one hundred military units and command bodies from all components of the Defense Forces that use unmanned systems," Syrskyi emphasized.
During the joint meeting, commanders of companies, battalions, regiments, and brigades of unmanned systems shared their experience. According to Syrskyi, each of them not only works productively in their own area but also contributes to the development of a shared base of knowledge, skills, and methodologies.
The meeting also addressed the effectiveness of organizational and tactical decisions in the use of Middle Strike drones, as well as the first results of the newly established unmanned systems battalions in territorial defense brigades.
"Reconnaissance and strike UAVs of fixed-wing and multirotor types, FPV drones, radio-controlled and fiber-optic drones, interceptor UAVs, and ground robotic systems – across all these areas we have achievements to be proud of. At the same time, there is still work to be done to resolve existing issues. This concerns, in particular, procurement, regulatory and financial support for R&D workshops, and organizational and staffing changes in unmanned systems units," Syrskyi stressed.
According to him, innovative developments, practical solutions, and field-tested insights in the area of unmanned systems must be consolidated and delivered to the troops as quickly as possible. Problematic issues must also be resolved without delay. The Commander-in-Chief outlined priority tasks.
"There is ongoing competition with the Russian aggressor in three areas: the quality and number of unmanned systems units, technology, and economic capacity. We have no other option but to strengthen the power and effectiveness of our unmanned systems in order to win this confrontation while preserving the lives of our soldiers. I thank the servicemen of unmanned systems units for their efficiency, professionalism, and initiative," Syrskyi added.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Ukraine will introduce drone-assault units that will integrate unmanned systems with ground forces.
