There is already certain level of competition on global stage for Ukraine's attention, opportunities to cooperate – Sybiha
This was stated by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in an interview with Ukrinform following his participation in the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Sybiha said that Ukraine is positioning itself in a new way, adding that the country has become much more of a subject in international relations. He noted that during this forum he had received a large number of requests for meetings and proposals for cooperation from partners who had not previously had Ukraine on their radar, which, he said, reflects recognition of Ukraine's capabilities and the positive results of its proactive policy.
The minister also noted that this year at the forum in Antalya he had received a record number of meeting requests.
He added that he could not recall ever having such a high number of requests for meetings during multilateral platforms and remarked that there was even a certain competition for Ukraine's attention and for the opportunities that cooperation with it offers. He emphasized that this makes Ukraine an attractive partner, enables mutually beneficial cooperation, and ultimately strengthens the country.
According to the minister, despite the challenges, Ukraine has the will to expand its presence in different regions of the world and finds the capacity to act as a contributor to security.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum took place in Turkey from April 17 to 19 under the slogan "Shaping the Future, Managing Uncertainty." Ukraine was represented at the event by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, who held a number of bilateral meetings with counterparts from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Following the forum, the minister stated that Ukraine has become a security partner for many countries and has assumed a new role in the global system—as a contributor to security—in which it is now firmly established and continuing to develop.
