War update: 84 clashes on front line since morning, most fights in Pokrovsk direction

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook regarding the situation as of 16:00 on Sunday, April 19.

Russian troops continue artillery shelling of border areas. In particular, today in the Sumy region the settlements of Korenok, Bachivsk, Ulanove, Malushyne, Prohres, and Tovstodubove were affected, and in the Chernihiv region – Zaliznyi Mist. In addition, the settlements of Vilna Sloboda and Pavlivka were subjected to airstrikes.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out an airstrike using four missiles and conducted 49 shellings of populated areas and Ukrainian military positions, three of them using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the Russian army launched seven assaults on positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces near the settlements of Synelnykove, Prylipka, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and in the direction of Bochkovе.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted three times to improve their positions near the settlements of Kivsharivka and Radkivka. One clash is still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled one attempt by the invaders to advance toward the settlement of Hrekivka.

In the Sloviansk and Kramatorsk directions, the enemy did not conduct active operations.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, the invaders carried out 13 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army made 32 attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near the settlements of Bilytske, Rodynske, Dorozhne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, and in the directions of Novooleksandrivka and Shevchenko. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy advanced twice near the settlements of Oleksandrohrad and Sichneve.

In the Huliaipole direction, Ukraine's Defense Forces successfully repelled 16 Russian attacks near the settlements of Dobropillia, Zelene, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Zaliznychne, Pryluky, Olenokostiantynivka, and toward the settlements of Verkhnia Tersa, Huliaipilske, and Hirke. In addition, the enemy carried out airstrikes near the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Huliaipilske, Liubytske, and Mykilske. Five clashes are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempted to advance near the settlement of Pavlivka. In addition, the enemy carried out airstrikes near the settlements of Vilnianka and Kushuhum.

In the Prydniprovske direction, Russian forces carried out two unsuccessful assault attempts toward the Antonivskyi Bridge and near Bilogrudyi Island.

In other directions of the front, no significant changes in the situation have been recorded so far. No attempts by the enemy to advance have been detected.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Ukraine's Defense Forces thwarted another large-scale attempt by Russian troops to break through in the area of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.
