Speaker Razumkov denies reports about significant pay rise for MPs

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov has denied media reports about a significant rise in salaries of Ukrainian MPs.

He stated this at a parliament’s meeting on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I have just contacted the Office. Detailed information has been provided to me. The indexation of MPs’ salaries has been carried out. However, it does not correspond to the figures reported in the media - about UAH 100 thousand, somewhere I even saw UAH 150 thousand. Salaries’ adjustment, about UAH 3 thousand for an MP, was due to [a rise in] living wage,” the speaker said.

Earlier, there were media reports that the salary of an MP would allegedly grow to UAH 100 thousand from January 1, 2020.
