Drones strike Russia's Ust-Luga port, fire reported

A fire broke out at the port of Ust-Luga in Russia's Leningrad region following a drone attack.

That is according to the Telegram channel Astra, Ukrinform reports.

An OSINT analyst verified the geolocation of eyewitness footage, confirming that photos were taken in the settlement of Ust-Luga and videos near the Ust-Luga customs checkpoint.

Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed a "fire outbreak" in the port area.

"Fire containment efforts are underway in the port area in Ust-Luga," Drozdenko wrote.

He added that 56 UAVs were allegedly shot down over the Leningrad region overnight.

The seaport of Ust-Luga is one of Russia's largest multipurpose ports on the Baltic Sea, located in the Gulf of Finland in the Leningrad region. In 2025, its cargo turnover amounted to 130.5 million tonnes. The port handles liquid cargo such as crude oil, petroleum products, liquid chemicals, ammonia, urea, as well as coal, mineral fertilizers, grain, agricultural products, containers, and more.

On March 23, Ukrainian forces struck key fuel and energy infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation, including the Transneft-Port Primorsk oil terminal in the Leningrad region and the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim refinery in Ufa.

As of March 24, a fuel depot at the port of Primorsk in Russia's Leningrad region had been burning for a second consecutive day following an attack.
