Germany has contributed EUR 60 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, which will be used, among other things, to supply generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Germany is strengthening the resilience of our critical infrastructure by contributing EUR 60 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. These funds will help accelerate the delivery of generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants. I thanked German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche for this decision," Svyrydenko wrote.

She noted that during the meeting, the sides discussed Ukraine's preparations for this winter and ways to enhance energy resilience. In particular, they agreed to create a joint energy working group and expand industrial cooperation.

"In December, a Ukrainian-German business forum will be held in Berlin, which can serve as an effective platform for new partnerships between our companies," she added.

Ukraine also proposed that Germany sign an intergovernmental agreement to support investors, following models already implemented by Denmark, the Netherlands, France, and Switzerland.

Svyrydenko thanked Germany for its proactive approach to using Russian assets.

"Today, macro-financial support is especially important, and our German partners support any measures that allow the use of these assets to help Ukraine and bring the war to a swift end," Svyrydenko said.

Earlier reports said that the financing for Ukraine's additional gas imports amounts to about EUR 2 billion, which will be drawn from domestic reserves and partner assistance.
