PM Svyrydenko: frontline regions priority in winter energy preparations
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“Russia continues to shell our energy infrastructure. The response must be swift — electricity and heat must be supplied regardless of circumstances or enemy actions. That is what we are working on — with particular focus on frontline regions,” she stressed.
According to Svyrydenko, a meeting of the Headquarters for Preparing for the Heating Season was held in Chernihiv yesterday, where key government bodies and regional leaders reported on readiness for winter.
The Prime Minister emphasized that by mid-October all required procedures must be finalized.
This week, the government also instructed authorities to guarantee uninterrupted gas and electricity supply to enterprises providing essential services in frontline communities.
In parallel, officials are checking the readiness of Points of Invincibility and ensuring conditions for their continuous operation if needed. “Special attention is being paid to expanding distributed generation capacity,” Svyrydenko added.
She also underlined that local communities are being empowered to prepare for winter. Homeowner associations (OSBBs) and housing cooperatives (ZhBKs) may use the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program to install alternative energy sources, while the government is working to improve access to this support.
“Winter resilience is one of the government’s priorities. The enemy will not succeed in depriving us of heat and light. We are working to be ready for every challenge our energy system may face this winter,” the Prime Minister concluded.
As reported by Ukrinform, the government has allocated funds for the defense of Sumy region and the restoration of facilities in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
