Ukraine, EU complete screening of final cluster on accession negotiations

The Ukrainian delegation, together with the European Commission, has concluded screening meetings in Brussels on Negotiation Chapter 11, "Agriculture and Rural Development."

That is according to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, Ukrinform reports.

Over three days of work, Ukraine presented 28 thematic blocks, including agricultural reforms, progress in digitalization, state support, market regulation, and the development of the agrarian sector.

The delegation also outlined the degree of alignment of Ukraine's legislation with the EU acquis in areas such as horizontal issues covering financial and administrative structures, agricultural markets, quality policy, organic production, and the promotion of agricultural products.

"These discussions highlighted two key points: we have already made significant progress in aligning agricultural policy with EU standards, but much work still lies ahead. Accession requires joint efforts and close coordination. Ukraine is ready to move forward on this path," said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Denys Bashlyk.

In September 2025 Ukraine is undergoing official screening for EU accession under Cluster 5, "Resources, Agriculture, and Cohesion Policy." This cluster includes three negotiation chapters.

Cluster 5 is the final of six clusters in the bilateral screening process. Based on its results, a roadmap will be drawn up for further implementation of EU regulations into Ukrainian legislation. Screening is the starting point of Ukraine's accession negotiations.
