Defense Forces thwart Russian attempt to capture Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad – Syrskyi
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
He spent another day visiting military units performing combat missions in the Pokrovsk direction.
During working meetings, he received reports from commanders, assessments of the operational situation, and evaluations of the condition and actions of Ukrainian units. Further steps were developed to strengthen defensive capabilities.
According to Syrskyi, the war is dynamically changing: the role of UAVs, fortifications, and proper training of servicemen is constantly increasing. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine must adapt combat approaches at all levels in a timely manner. The Commander-in-Chief once again emphasized this to the commanders.
In Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy, who attempts to infiltrate the northern districts of both cities in small groups.
As a result of active assault operations, another enemy attempt to capture these settlements was thwarted. The engaged operational reserve of the invaders suffered significant losses. At the same time, the situation remains difficult.
Ukrainian soldiers effectively destroy the invaders, demonstrate coordinated teamwork, and maintain a high level of professionalism while carrying out combat tasks under extremely challenging conditions.
"I sincerely thank the Ukrainian defenders for their dedicated service. I recognized the best servicemen for thwarting the enemy's plans near Pokrovsk, where the adversary systematically suffers significant losses," Syrskyi noted.
He presented the Commander-in-Chief's honorary badges of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – the "Steel Cross," "Silver Cross," and "Cross of Military Honor." These awards testify to personal courage, resilience, and devoted service to the Ukrainian people.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are working to timely detect and destroy combat equipment that Russian invaders are attempting to stockpile for an assault on Myrnohrad in Donetsk region.
