Ukraine, Netherlands launch joint production of deep-strike UAVs
According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Facebook.
Shmyhal met in Kyiv with Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans and briefed his counterpart on the consequences of the overnight strikes.
The two defense chiefs discussed in detail the implementation of the memorandum, which was signed earlier today in the presence of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"The agreement provides for the launch of joint production of deep-strike UAVs in the Netherlands with EUR 110 million in investment under the Build with Ukraine initiative," Shmyhal said.
They also focused on Ukraine's key priorities: scaling up drone production for the front and for urban defense, strengthening the long-range capabilities of Ukrainian forces, and increasing sanctions pressure on the aggressor.
Shmyhal highlighted the special role of the Netherlands in enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities – through support under the PURL initiative, the transfer of F-16 fighter jets and air defense systems, and assistance in developing defense production.
Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the Dutch government and people, as well as personally to Minister Brekelmans, for their strong contribution to Ukraine's shared victory.
