Russia planning operation against Ukraine's water supply systems in coming months – Zelensky
According to Ukrinform, the head of state made the statement during his nightly video address on Telegram after holding a nationwide coordination call following recent Russian strikes.
"We know that the Russians are preparing an operation against water supply systems in the coming months. Every community must take the protection of these facilities seriously and with full responsibility," Zelensky said.
He added that he had held a coordination call with all regions affected by Russian strikes.
"Special attention was given to the Chernihiv region, where restoration of electricity continued throughout the day. I also instructed government officials and the Office of the President team to work with our military on air defense issues, particularly protection against drones in Ukraine's western regions," he said.
According to Zelensky, additional layers of protection must be established, which is a clear task for authorities.
"Today, together with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the head of Naftogaz, other government officials, and the defense minister, we reviewed key priorities once again. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also has tasks to accomplish," he said.
