Zelensky meets soldiers taking part in Dobropillia counteroffensive in Donetsk region
The head of state reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Donetsk Region. I met with our warriors taking part in the Dobropillia counteroffensive. I spoke with the defenders, thanked them for their achievements, and presented them with state awards. I also received a report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on the progress of the operation, the overall frontline situation, and upcoming plans," Zelensky said.
He stressed that Ukrainian forces are liberating the country step by step.
"Since the start of the operation, 160 square kilometers and seven settlements have been reclaimed, and over 170 square kilometers and nine settlements have been cleared of the occupiers. Nearly a hundred invaders have been taken prisoner, and just in the past few weeks, the Russians have suffered thousands of losses — both wounded and killed," he said.
Zelensky thanked the soldiers for their resilience.
"You are a true example for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and for all warriors of our Defense Forces. I am grateful for your courage," he said.
