Syrskyi in Donetsk region: New middle strike approaches already felt on front lines
He reported this on Facebook following a working trip, Ukrinform reports.
"The Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration remains one of the key and hottest sectors of the frontline. This is where the enemy concentrates its main efforts and continues attempts to break through the defense and reach the outskirts of the Pokrovsk agglomeration," Syrskyi said.
According to him, Russian forces continue to rely on small infantry groups, using infiltration tactics involving individual soldiers and their accumulation in the inter-positional space. However, despite these efforts, "Russian invaders are not achieving the goals set by Moscow."
At the same time, Syrskyi noted that there are many areas where Ukrainian forces are able to intensify their own active operations and dictate conditions to the enemy. In these sectors, Russian troops are suffering heavy losses and are themselves trying to hold certain positions to prevent Ukrainian advances. He said these results are made possible by the resilience of Ukrainian soldiers, effective planning, quality training, and the skillful use of weapons.
Syrskyi also noted that the effects of new middle strike approaches are already being felt on the frontline, including the creation of joint centers, improved coordination between different components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and the deployment of additional units within corps structures.
Ukrainian forces continue to destroy enemy logistics, personnel and equipment, command posts, UAV launch sites, drone operator positions, as well as air defense, electronic warfare, and reconnaissance systems.
During his visit, Syrskyi held meetings with military leadership and commanders of units operating in the sector, receiving detailed briefings on the situation and discussing defensive organization and active operations. He also reviewed and supported proposals from commanders.
The meeting also outlined further steps to improve the effectiveness of firepower – including UAVs and artillery – as well as coordination and logistics between Ukrainian units.
Decisions were made on-site regarding ammunition and other logistical needs of the units, and relevant orders were issued.
"I thank our soldiers, sergeants, and officers for their courage and effectiveness in defending the Ukrainian Donetsk region," Syrskyi said.
