Drones operated by the Middle-strike units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Special Operations Forces (SOF) hit two Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile systems in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to Ukrinform, the SOF Command reported this on Facebook and released footage of the combat operation.

"One of the systems was struck by SOF drones while it was being transported by a tractor unit along the M-14 highway near occupied Berdianske in the Zaporizhzhia region during the night of May 29," the statement said.

It is noted that Russian forces use the M-14 highway as a land corridor from Russia to Crimea along the Taganrog-Dzhankoi route through the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. The village of Berdianske is located between Mariupol and Berdiansk, more than 150 kilometers from the front line.

"The second Tor-M2 air defense system was struck earlier near occupied Melitopol," the SOF Command added.

The military also emphasized that the Tor-M2 system, equipped with up to 16 missiles, is used to protect Russian units and military facilities in occupied Ukrainian territories. As a short-range air and missile defense system, the Tor-M2 is capable of intercepting tactical aircraft, helicopters, drones, and cruise missiles.

"The SOF continue to maintain fire control over this key enemy logistics artery and systematically destroy Russian military equipment and personnel moving along the M-14 highway," the military stressed.

As Ukrinform previously reported, fighters from the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center used FPV drones to strike Russian military vehicles, communication antennas, and shelters in Russia's border regions.
