Russian troops are approaching the city of Lysychansk, gaining a foothold in neighboring settlements.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Russians are approaching Lysychansk, gaining a foothold in settlements nearby, firing at the city with aviation,” Haidai wrote.

In Sievierodonetsk, street fighting is underway. The enemy again opened fire on such villages as Synetskyi and Pavlohrad, on the bridges destroyed and twice on the Azot plant. The area of treatment facilities and a front gate entrance of the chemical enterprise were damaged.

Russian invaders are attempting to block Ukrainian defense forces near such settlements as Borivske and Voronove.

“The situation is difficult in the Popasna direction. The enemy entered Toshkivka, which allowed them to intensify fire pressure on other settlements. Russian occupier are gaining a foothold in Ustynivka, Pidlisne and Myrna Donyna, conducting an offensive on Bila Hora. It is not easy for our soldiers to keep the defense near Hirske,” Haidai noted.

In his words, over the past day, nine houses have been destroyed in Hirske, seven – in Zolote and 12 – in Novoivanivka.

Russian troops are firing at Lysychansk with artillery, tanks and aviation. Three civilians and several police officers were injured. Russians launched missile strikes on the premises of the police department, prosecutor’s office and the Security Service of Ukraine.
