Svitolina defeats Baptiste at WTA 1000 tournament in Rome

The prestigious Women's Tennis Association (WTA 1000) clay-court tournament, the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, is underway in the Italian capital, with a prize pool of over €8.235 million.
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine’s top-ranked player, Elina Svitolina (No. 10 in the WTA rankings), defeated world No. 25 Haley Baptiste (USA) 6-1, 6-2 in the third round.
The match lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes.
In the fourth round (round of 16), the Ukrainian participant will face the winner of the match between Madison Keys (USA, No. 19) and Nikola Bartůňková (Czech Republic, No. 94).
The tournament in Rome will conclude on May 17.
Elina won the tournament in the Italian capital in 2017 and 2018, and reached the quarterfinals last season.
