New government speaks less about supporting Ukraine, but support continues, says Czech ambassador
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Luboš Veselý, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, stated this at the Dialogues on Europe forum taking place in the Zakarpattia region.
“I think it is clear not only from official statements that our current government, like the previous one, supports Ukraine. That has not changed,” Veselý noted.
He remarked that the current government talks less about its support for Ukraine.
“What has changed is that the current government provides less information about what it is doing [for Ukraine], but it is doing it... We don’t like to talk too much, but we know how to work in a way that produces concrete results,” the ambassador added.
He stated that the Czech Republic’s support for Ukraine continues and will continue.
As reported, on May 10, 2026, the Dialogues on Europe 2026 forum will take place near Uzhhorod, focusing on the new political reality in the European Union and its impact on Ukraine and the Central European region. The forum will be attended by diplomats and leaders from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and the Netherlands, as well as from the civil sector and non-governmental institutions.
The Dialogues on Europe initiative was launched by the Institute for Central European Strategy in 2023 to align Ukraine’s and the EU’s understanding of Europe at the narrative level. The mission of this initiative is to conceptualize and promote the doctrine of good neighborliness in Central Europe as a key element of Ukraine’s European integration and of Europe's overall security.
