Volunteer fighters from 55 countries joined International Legion – spokesperson

Volunteer fighters from 55 countries from all continents have joined the Ukrainian military's international legion that was created in Ukraine in connection with the Russian invasion of the country.

Damien Magrou, spokesperson for the International Legion for the Defense of Ukraine, said this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine - Ukrinform.

"We have representatives of 55 countries from all continents, even as far as Brazil, South Korea, Australia," Magrou said.

He said that most members of the legion are from the U.S. and the UK, followed by Poles and Canadians with Ukrainian roots, and representatives of other nationalities. There are also many people from the Baltic and Nordic countries, including many people from Finland, Magrou said.

Magra declined to name the total number of legioners, citing the confidentiality of information.
