Svitolina reaches semifinals of tennis tournament in UAE

Ukraine's top seeded tennis player Elina Svitolina has passed the quarterfinal stage of a Premier 5 Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament – the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships - in Dubai (the United Arab Emirates), with prize money of $2.828 million.
Svitolina, sixth seed at the tournament, defeated Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro (No. 26 in the WTA ranking) 6-2, 6-3 and reached the semifinals of the tournament, according to Ukrinform.
The Ukrainian will play in a semifinal game against Swiss Belinda Bencic (No. 45), who beat the world's No. 2, Simona Halep from Romania, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Svitolina is the current champion of the tournament in Dubai.
The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships will last until February 25.
